The grapefruit (Citrus × paradisi) is a subtropical citrus tree known for its relatively large, sour to semisweet, somewhat bitter fruit. The interior flesh is segmented and varies in color from pale yellow to dark pink.

Common Name: Grapefruit Tree.
Origin: Barbados.
Hardiness: Better kept frost free. Can be grown outside in Spring and Summer but will need bringing inside during Winter.
Growth: A vigorous and productive evergreen tree with glossy green leaves and delicious, sharp tasting fruit with lots of juice and yellow flesh. Fragrant large white blossom. Self fertile.
Sun: Full sun.
Exposure: Sheltered.
Flowering Season: Late Spring into Summer.
Soil: Free draining.
Moisture: Water freely in summer. Do not waterlog. Less in winter.
Feeding: Feed a balanced liquid feed such as 'Citrus Focus' every 2 weeks through summer.
Pruning: Minimal pruning just to reshape around February/March time.
