Butia Capitata. Butia Odorata.
The Butia Capitata or Pindo Palm Tree is one of the hardiest feather palms, tolerating temperatures down to -10 degrees or below. Curving, silvery-blue pinnate leaves gives it a stunning, graceful look. It's stout single trunk has prominent leave scars.
Commonly known also as the jelly palm taking it's name from the fleshy fruit which are used to make jellies, jam and wine. Prefering a sheltered position it also is perfect for container growing as it's roots adapt really well to being in a limited space.

Common Name: Jelly Palm, Wine Palm, Pindo Palm.
Native to: Brazil and throughout South America.
Hardiness: Hardy down to -10 or lower.
Growth Characteristics: Slow growing with a stout single trunk. Feather palm pinnate leaves that arch inwards.
Sunlight: Full/partial sun.
Exposure: Sheltered.
Soil: Good draining soil.
Moisture: Water well during active growing season.
