Trachycarpus Fortunei.
The Trachycarpus Fortunei Palm Tree or Chusan Palm is very attractive, easy and quick growing palm. It is one of the hardiest of all the palm trees, and is hardy in most places of the UK even in severe winters.
Also know as the Windmill Palm it is easy to grow being tolerant of almost any soils, and adapts well to most situations. although it does prefer to be sheltered from strong winds to avoid frond damage. Beautiful fan-shaped fronds are arranged around the top of a single trunk which is covered in coarse fibrous material, giving it an exotic and tropical appearance. Branched flower heads appear from early summer.
The Trachycarpus Fortunei is a relatively inexpensive palm that is perfect for creating a tropical look in any garden.
